Nancy Dimock
oboe
Nancy Dimock, oboist with the Chameleon Arts Ensemble, is also currently principal oboist of the Springfield and Vermont Symphonies and a member of the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston and the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra. She has collaborated with such artists as the Jacques Thibaud Trio and the Lydian String Quartet, been featured as a soloist with the Vermont Symphony on several occasions, and has performed the Bach Concerto for Violin and Oboe eleven times with renowned violinist Jaime Laredo. Ms. Dimock frequently performs as a guest with ensembles in Boston and throughout New England, including Boston Musica Viva, Boston Lyric Opera, Portland Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic and the Boston Pops. She is Lecturer of Oboe at the University of Connecticut and serves on the adjunct faculty of Gordon College. During her tenure as Principal Oboist of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, she performed on the CD release Rosemary Clooney: The Final Concert. Ms. Dimock has also appeared on the Prairie Home Companion radio show, NPR’s Performance Today, and PBS’s Great Performances, and she regularly performs live on Boston's classical radio station, WGBH. She has recorded for Concord, Albany and Chandos records.
